What this tool does and who it is for
Turn photos or scanner images into one multi-page PDF, with an optional high-contrast filter to make paper documents look cleaner. Add several images, pick Black and white, Grayscale, or Color, then compile. It suits receipts, signed forms, and quick paperwork when you do not have a scanner nearby.
On a phone, the add button opens the camera or photo picker through the normal file chooser, so you can shoot pages one by one. The tool does not run its own live camera view, and it does not detect page edges or straighten skewed shots.
Each image is filtered on a canvas in your browser, saved as a JPEG at about 88 percent quality, and placed on its own PDF page. Nothing is sent to a server during this process.
Official Formula / Technical Standard
Real-World Worked Scenario
Three 4MB phone camera photos filtered to B&W text compile into a sharp, compact 600KB multi-page PDF document.
When people use it
Submit a signed form from your phone
Photograph each page of a signed lease or consent form in good light, filter to black and white, and upload one tidy PDF to a portal.
Bundle receipts for expense reports
Snap a stack of receipts, keep them in order, and compile a single file instead of attaching a dozen JPEGs.
Capture a whiteboard or handwritten notes
Grayscale keeps pencil and marker legible without the heavy contrast of black and white.
Digitize mail you need to keep
Scan a letter from the IRS, a state agency, or an insurer into a PDF you can file in a folder and search by name.
Notes for US users
- Output pages take the pixel size of each image, not a fixed 8.5 by 11 inch letter page. A phone photo can therefore produce an oddly shaped page. If a portal demands letter size, check the page dimensions in your viewer before uploading.
- Large phone photos create large PDFs. Many US lender and benefits portals cap uploads, often at only a few megabytes, so shrink the result with a compressor if needed.
- For identity documents, check the receiving agency's rules. Some insist on color, and the black-and-white filter would make a driver's license copy unacceptable.
Limits and what to double-check
- •The scan is a filter, not true document detection. There is no auto-crop, perspective fix, or shadow removal, so shoot straight on and fill the frame.
- •The tool does not run OCR, so the PDF contains images only. You cannot search or copy text from it. Use an OCR tool afterward if you need that.
- •Black and white at high contrast can wipe out light stamps, faint signatures, and highlighter marks. Preview the thumbnails and switch to Grayscale if detail disappears.
Expert Best Practices & Common Pitfalls
Recommended Best Practices
- •Ensure even overhead lighting when photographing documents to avoid heavy corner shadows.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- •Using color mode on plain text receipts, which wastes bandwidth and makes printing expensive.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this mobile friendly?▼
Yes, you can take photos directly from your phone browser and compile them into a PDF.
Can I use my phone camera directly?▼
On most phones, tapping the add button offers Take Photo as well as Photo Library, so you can shoot pages one at a time. There is no built-in live viewfinder on the page, and behavior depends on your browser and operating system settings.
How do I reorder pages after adding them?▼
There is no drag-to-reorder. You can delete a page with the red button on its thumbnail and re-add it, or clear all and add the images in the order you want. Pages are written to the PDF in the order they were added.
Why is my PDF so large?▼
Phone cameras produce high-resolution images, and each one is embedded at its full pixel size. To shrink the file, reduce your camera's resolution before shooting or run the finished PDF through a compression tool. Cropping tightly, shooting in decent light, and keeping the phone steady also shrinks the file because less detail needs storing.
Which filter should I choose?▼
Black and white works best for printed text on white paper. Grayscale suits pencil, receipts with faint thermal print, and photos. Color is best when the color matters, such as colored stamps, highlights, or ID cards. If you are unsure, preview a single page with each filter and compare before compiling the whole stack.
